So we left for the weekend and went to a normal place for a weekend. Boy I miss being home, which is a normal place. Utah is just an amazing, weird, strange (insert your amazed, strange descriptive word here) and the more I leave, the more I like leaving.
We caught up with a friend but other than that, it ended up we had little time for anything else. We were running errands for things (such as really cheap and good syrups for lattes & mochas) that we can't find in Utah took lots of time, and we looked at houses a lot because we keep thinking we will move once we can. The outside that is, because we don't really have the freedom to view the inside of a house, fall in love and put earnest money down. Yet. And we don't know where we want to live, really, though HOME is probably ideal. We'll see what happens. I want to have a house I can live in, work at Starbucks to support and still have a retirement. Probably dreaming, but?
I have 72 days until I can freely quit my job. And while we may, for purely selfish and financial reasons, stay longer than that...it will be by a choice made under duress.
I can't wait until I don't have to read in the paper every day if Mitt Romney had the sniffles. Argh.
And I am not watching the damn Super Bowl. Yuck on both sides.

Movies I Like
I am probably so weird compared to most people on movies I like. I re-watched for the umpteenth time tonight "She's The One" - an old Edward Burns movie, soundtrack by Tom Petty. Jennifer Aniston is a hoot in it. I just love that movie, it never did anything at the box office if I remember correctly but it is so true in a weird sort of way to how relationships work. Made me laugh yet again...I love it when the Dad says "Come on Girls"...to his two sons. If I called my boys "girls" I'd get a lot of grief!

We are Siamese if you please

Here is the evil ruler (he thinks) of our home, one Bucky Katt. (if you don't get it, go to http://www.comics.com/comics/getfuzzy/index.html)
We got Bucky aka "Damien" a year ago. He is darned cute but he picks on the old cat, tries to pick fights with the rabbit (which does NOT work, she's meaner than he is), claws the banister and generally speaking is a pain in the butt. Good thing I like Siamese as it was my decision to get him and except for Little Bit, who loves him and vice versa, as you can see he is snuggling with Little Bit's teddies, I find myself having to defend my obsession with all things Siamese to the other members of the household.

Fuzzy and Me

Okay, I lied. One last Packer post.
I met Fuzzy Thurston, one of the sweetest men ever made on 12/29 in Green Bay, WI. Fuzzy was on the Super Bowl I and II teams, and is a native of Wisconsin (which not many Packers are as I understand it). He has a bar/restaurant in Green Bay which he frequents game weekends to meet fans, sell memorabilia etc. This was one of the best weekends of my life in many ways - Green Bay people kick ass and they are, literally, my people. The local Lutheran church in Green Bay was selling beer at the game. I had to buy one simply to celebrate the fact I was in a land of Lutherans, Cheeseheads and beer drinkers. After Utah...a deep deep sigh of love and relief escaped me.
Fuzzy is a lovely man, who I have read about for years, and the only thing that would have totally kicked my butt is if Jerry Kramer (the other guard in SB I & II who went to the University of Idaho) would have been on the other side of me. Check it out.

Ouch
That hurt. A lot. Last Packer post for a while, fer shure. I'm nursing my wounds and still hoping that #4 comes back next year - he's an amazing person and an amazing player and I know I that I will be sad if I have seen him play for the last time.
The boys and I are going to Green Bay next year (all 4 of us) if he comes back. Then I can quit my stupid job.

Brett Fav-rah
Okay, I know the whole Packer theme/thing will get old. For you, not me.
I found this tonight and I had forgotten just how damn cute Brett Favre is. I HATE this movie. The two good things about it are Brett and this video at the end.
I promise I will not be so one-topic after the Super Bowl (well I hope I get to wait that long that is).

And in fact...
The Crygirls did lose! Excellent. I wish I was in Green Bay now...just as cold as Utah but a hell of a lot more fun. Maybe I'll win those tickets tomorrow and get to go there for the weekend.

Whew!
Well, that went well - Da Pack won and hopefully the Cowgirls will lose. One game at a time, one game at a time!

Nervous
One thing that most people who know me at all are very aware of is that I'm a fan of the Green Bay Packers. They are playing today and I am NERVOUS. What if we don't win? I know, I know, the world will not come to an end....however...I will be VERY upset. Probably even more than after the infamous Denver-Green Bay Super Bowl.
*happy thoughts* *happy thoughts**Brett is going to win*

Here We Go Again
I tried this a while back with a different vehicle...all that came out was venom (rough period in my life) and it was incredibly different to post due to the velocity of my life at that time. This will be - hopefully - a "happier" blog. Whatever that means! At any rate, let's give this a go and see if I can open myself up a little via the old internet...
